040102 + Patrick Rocha
Patrick Rocha is an emerging artist that we want everyone to check out. He seamlessly moves from the canvas to the streets and back again. His characters seem to be carrying a life long load of regret and repressed feelings. He brings these emotions to the murals he's painted both in his hometown of Topeka, Kansas and Brooklyn where he now resides. You will be seeing and hearing a lot more about Patrick in the future. In the meantime see what all the hype is about in the 'Featured' section on stayhonest.com

032002 + PLEATSPLEASE.com
The Honest designed
Pleatsplease.com coming-soon/mini-site is on the WWW. Go sign-up to be notified of the full site launch in August.
Pleats Please ISSEY MIYAKE was a longtime dream of Miyake’s; to find the ideal form of clothing that could become as much of a staple in modern wardrobes as t-shirts and jeans. Unlike other pleated clothes that are pleated first, then cut and sewn, with Pleats Please ISSEY MIYAKE, the fabric is cut and sewn into garments first, which are then fed into a heat-press pleating machine. The special memory in the yarn retains the pleating permanently.

021102 + TIME TO CONSIDER
Honest was chosen to participate in a project sponsored by the Van Allen institute and Creative time. Time to Consider: The Arts Respond to 9.11. Our posters simply displayed common words and their definitions, in the hopes that seeing them juxtaposed might re-contextualize them, causing passersby to pause and think of how they were using the words themselves. The poster campaign includes other artists and poets. Deutsche Bank Lobby Gallery will host an exhibition from February 4 - March 22, 2002, which will be an anchor site for the poster campaign. To download the posters visit

092001 + Picking up where we left off
In the aftermath of September 11 we can only be thankful and appreciative that we and our loved ones are alive. The office goes on. The semester has begun and we are all back to teaching. Stella finally made it back to the US after being stuck in London for a week longer than planned. Strangely, we posted an animation of the Twin Towers(#34) in our RTN section a few days before the attack. We are leaving the animation up as a remembrance of America's loss.

As of July 19 check out the Storefront for Art and Architecture's new show: Building Codes, The Programmable City. The show raises many issues surrounding building regulations and the relationship between politics, architecture, landlords and tenants. Honest did all the design for the show, including the floor plan, color scheme and facades of all the "buildings" in the show. Get a poster about IMPORTANT HOUSING RIGHTS IN NYC, or pick up the newsprint poster from the show. It will be up till August 25th. The opening is 6-8 Tursday 19th, at 97 Kenmare St.

071701 + PARTY
Our web site and new office launch party was a huge success! No deaths, mutilations or lawsuits (yet?). Over 500 beautiful people came to drink our free alcohol. The only thing stolen was my 8 DVDs, which was to be my birthday present. What kind of person steals at an Honest party? Just return it and nobody will get hurt.
Click for party pic.

071201 + STAYHONEST.com
Today the new site is live and we are celebrating (more on that later). The site is not 100% yet. We are still fixing small things that you probably won't even notice. The small bandwidth version will be up soon, although the large bandwidth site is quite small, so don't hold back on account of an early nineties modem. Major shout outs and thanks to Matthew Barber and Brack Bivins for making it LIVE. Don't forget about John Jurgensen, our athletic supporter.

Just check it out! STAYHONEST
