TriBühne background info

TriBühne proudly presents:

"TriBühne" - Concept for the "waking up" of the "Kulturforum" of Berlin

"TriBühne" is a play of words between auditorium (Tribüne) and stage (Bühne). "TriBühne" stands for both: a "virtual" organization and a "real" installation. The installation has two branches: It is (first) a self-referring model in the internet and is (later) an architectonical tool for the so-called Kulturforum in B erlin. Sadly, the "Kulturforum" is at present the wasteland, that (oddly) houses the most important and most famous high-culture-buildings of Berlin - the National Gallery, the Philharmonie, State's library and museums. "TriBü hne" stands for the posibility of transforming this conctete territory into a "Kulturlandschaft" (culture-landscape), where culture is experienced as a process. "TriBühne" offers the organizational and building structures required:

How does the self-referring internet-model work?
There is a constantly up-dated series of pictures of plans for the "Kulturlandschaft Berlin" in http-format in the WWW. These pages represent the tectonic part of the model. At the same time there will be a space called Tri-Buehne for on-line conversation (probably in PMC-MOO) related to the "Kulturlandschaft". Up to now this space is a storry-board based on imaginations, to which everybody can contribute. This space represents the textual part of the model. The idea is to let this space grow out of the conversations themselves. Recording the conversations allows them to be file as proposuals for the "Kulturlandschaft". The files then form thematic "rooms" where one can meet and elaborate ideas.

These two branches are related to each other:
You move from the plans (WWW) by clicking into the conversation (MOO), that refer to the plans.

The speciality of this relation between TEXTure and archiTECTure is, that it not only forms a reality as an internet-modell but also refers to a real existing place in Berlin. So both this space of the internet and this concrete place in the city of Berlin get special meaning: A recursive and self-suffici ent internet - installation anchors itself spectacularly on the ground. AND the traditional use of the existing high-culture institutions (going to a concert, visiting an exhibition, consuming...) are transformed in the Kulturlandschaft into an open conversation. The architecture of the "TriBü hne" is then the perpetual result of this dance - developed and accessable online in the internet. It might be possible to show a continual public projection of the internet model at the Kulturlandschaft itself this summer.
